Privacy Policy (VedaTime)

Last updated: May 27, 2026

Overview

VedaTime ("we", "our", "the app") is a mobile application that helps you view Vedic Muhurtas, Choghadiyas, Rahu Kaal, and related timing information for a location you choose. This policy explains what information the app uses, how it is processed, your choices, and how to contact us. By using VedaTime, you agree to this policy.

Who we are

VedaTime is published by the developer of this app. For privacy questions, data requests, or support related to this policy, use the Contact section at the bottom of this page.

Information we use

Location: latitude and longitude (and a display name such as city) are used to compute sunrise, sunset, and time windows for your place. You may allow device GPS or pick a city manually. City search: when you search for a place by name, your query is sent to your device's platform geocoding service (Apple or Google, depending on OS) to resolve coordinates. We do not run our own geocoding server. Preferences on your device: language, theme, onboarding state, home-screen widget preference, and last selected location. Advertising: when you unlock certain features or see launch ads, Google AdMob may process device identifiers and usage data under Google's policies to deliver and measure ads. We do not require an account. Panchang calculations are performed on your device; we do not operate a central server that stores your personal profile for timing math.

Location

Muhurta and Choghadiya times depend on your local sky. If you tap "Allow location", the app requests permission to read your device's GPS while you use the app (when-in-use only). Calculations run on your device; coordinates are not sent to our servers for Panchang math. If you prefer not to share GPS, use "Pick a city manually". You can change location anytime from the home screen. You can revoke location permission in device Settings; the app can continue with a saved manual city if one is stored.

Advertising

VedaTime uses Google AdMob for rewarded and interstitial advertisements. Ads may appear when you unlock extended views (for example, full Muhurta or horoscope lists) or occasionally at launch. Google and its partners may use cookies, device IDs, IP address, and similar technologies as described in Google's privacy policy: https://google.com AdMob information: https://google.com You can limit ad personalization in your device settings and, where available, your Google account ad settings. In the European Economic Area and UK, consent for personalized ads may be requested through your platform or Google's consent tools when applicable.

Home screen widget

If you enable the home-screen widget, the app writes current Muhurta and Choghadiya labels to shared on-device storage (App Group on iOS, app preferences on Android) so the widget can display them. Widget data is not uploaded to us. You can turn the widget off in Settings; updates stop when disabled.

On-device calculations

Astronomical calculations use the Swiss Ephemeris library (Moshier mode) on your device. Supporting files, when needed, are stored in app-writable storage on your phone. Horoscope text in the app is for general cultural and informational purposes only; it is not medical, legal, or financial advice. We do not sell Panchang data derived from your location.

Third-party services

The app may rely on: Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) — advertising Apple / Google platform APIs — location, geocoding, and distribution App stores — distribution and optional crash or analytics data as provided by the store Each third party processes data under its own terms and privacy notices. Data may be processed in countries where those providers operate.

Children

VedaTime is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the app in a way that concerns you, contact us and we will help you understand how to remove on-device app data (for example, by uninstalling the app).

Security and retention

Data stays primarily on your device. Use a screen lock on your phone. Uninstalling the app removes locally stored VedaTime data subject to platform behavior. Ad networks may retain data according to their own retention schedules.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of personal information. In the app you can: Use manual city selection instead of GPS Change language and theme in Settings Disable the home-screen widget Limit ad tracking in device and Google settings Uninstall the app to stop local processing and delete on-device app data To exercise privacy rights or ask questions, contact us using the Contact section at the bottom of this page. We will respond within a reasonable time. If you are in the EEA/UK, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

California residents

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including knowing what categories of information are collected and requesting deletion. Because we do not operate a user account system, most data is on your device or processed by ad partners. For privacy requests, contact us using the Contact section at the bottom of this page. We do not sell personal information for money as defined under California law.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app changes. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy. Material changes may also be noted in app store release notes where appropriate.
